Gestalt therapy is uniquely compatible with Buddhism. The focus on here-and-now awareness in Gestalt therapy is based in Buddhist principles. These two approaches, combined, allow for an authentic, engaged connection between the client and the therapist.

Gestalt therapy is a humanistic, holistic process that focuses on your present life and challenges. Buddhism increases the capacity for staying with what is, developing more trust in the present moment, and more wisdom and compassion.

Gestalt practitioners work with clients to help them focus on self-awareness, on what is happening from one moment to the next. Increased awareness and understanding of the present, of one’s immediate thoughts, feelings and behavior, and of patterns of relating, can bring about powerful change and new perspectives. Greater awareness and increased insight into how you think, feel and act can be liberating. It can build confidence and help you to live life fully.

Right now, it’s like this.
